How to Resize Images on Notion's iPad App

Notion is a powerful all-in-one productivity app that lets you organize and manage your tasks, notes, and projects. One of its many features is the ability to insert images into your documents. Sometimes, you may need to adjust an image’s size to achieve the perfect layout, and Notion’s iPad app makes this process easy with a couple of methods.

Step 1: Open the Notion App

Open the Notion app on your iPad and navigate to the page where you want to resize an image. If you don’t have the app installed, download it from the App Store.

Step 2: Locate the Image

Go to the correct page and locate the image you want to resize. You can either insert a new image or work with one that’s already in your document.

Step 3: Select the Image

Tap on the image to select it. This action will highlight the image and bring up its settings.

Step 4: Access the Image Settings

In recent versions of the Notion iPad app, there are two common ways to adjust image size:

  1. Drag Handles or Pinch-to-Zoom: When you select an image, you might notice blue handles or simply use a two-finger pinch gesture to adjust the width directly. Simply drag the edges or pinch the image to your desired size.

  2. More Options Menu: If you prefer a precise adjustment:

  • Tap the "..." icon to open additional settings.
  • In the menu that appears, look for an option labeled "Resize" (often represented by a square with arrows pointing inward and outward).

Step 5: Adjust the Image Size

  • Interactive Resizing: Use pinch-to-zoom gestures or drag the blue handles (if available) for an intuitive, real-time adjustment.
  • Slider Method: If you access the "Resize" option from the "..." menu, a slider will appear. Move the slider left or right to decrease or increase the image size accordingly.

Step 6: Confirm and Save

As you adjust the image, you’ll see a live preview of how it will look in your document. Once you’re satisfied with the new size, tap the "Done" button (if using the slider) or simply tap outside the image to save your changes. Notion automatically updates the image display based on your adjustments.

Important Note

Resizing an image on the Notion iPad app only changes its appearance within your document. The original image file remains unchanged. If you need to permanently alter the dimensions of the image file, use a dedicated image editing app or software before inserting it into Notion.

With these simple steps, you can easily resize images on Notion’s iPad app to create a layout that suits your design. Take advantage of this feature to make your documents more visually appealing and organized.
